Jill Goldenziel
Jill Goldenziel is Associate Professor at Marine Corps University, where she teaches International Law, the Laws of War, and National Security to mid-career U.S. and foreign armed services members studying for a Master's in Military Studies. She is also a Lecturer on Social Studies at Harvard College and a Distinguished Senior Scholar at the University of Pennsylvania's Fox Leadership International program. She holds a Ph.D. and an A.M. in Government from Harvard University, a J.D. from the New York University School of Law, and an A.B. from Princeton University. Prof. Goldenziel's scholarship focuses on international law, human rights, refugees and migration, international organizations, and the intersection of international and domestic constitutional law. She is a specialist in the law and politics of the Middle East. She is currently writing a book on how to solve the migration and refugee crisis. In 2016-7, Prof. Goldenziel participated in High-Level Meetings related to the UN Summit for Refugees and Migrants and the UN Global Compact for Migration, including speaking before 50 UN Member-States and submitting draft language for the New York Declaration for Refugees and Migrants that was affirmed by the General Assembly. Prof. Goldenziel's publications have appeared in the American Journal of International Law, Arizona State Law Journal, Berkeley Journal of International Law, Chicago Journal of International Law, and the American Journal of Comparative Law, among other scholarly journals. Her work has been featured in The Washington Post, the L.A. Times, The Huffington Post, and The National Interest, and she has been a commentator on NPR, Public Radio International, and in other media. Prof. Goldenziel has clerked for Judge Thomas Buergenthal (Ret., International Court of Justice) and Prof. William W. Park on ICSID investor-state international arbitration tribunals.
